What is value measured by? Can one say it is measured by only one metric?
In today's society's focus on "Instagram Lifestyle" we lose sight of the fact that the generations of old had pride in offering more than merely paper on which a face is printed. Money is only a substitute. A symbol of something else. It stands to represent energy, time and effort.
We have become so invested in the paper, that we have lost sight of what is behind it. The fast life and rush to make it, has distracted us from the most important experiences of all. The energy, time and effort that we spend on any given activity or interaction. The journey makes us who we are, not the destination. We figure out who we are and what we are in relation to the world by "bumping" into what is around us on our way to where we're going.
We have so much more to offer the world than pieces of perishable, synthetic, inked paper. Do not let this modern world convince you of your lack of use - uselessness, just because at this moment you do not have that very metric with what they use to define your worth as a human being...
Take into your hands that which you can, to add value. Be a beacon of light in someone's darkness, and help them pull themselves from the abyss. Be a figure of strength in a time of weakness, and be a battering ram of willpower in times of uncertainty.
You can make a difference in the worlds of those around you, and stand true to your inner values.
Be virtuous. Focus on controlling that which is in within your grasp. Focus not on that which you cannot control. Free your mind of external pressures and push back to move that which is in your path.
