7. The Abyss

7. The Abyss

There is a difference between the warrior who dares to go where he feels a call and the warrior who goes only where he is sent. Initiative is a driving force that only someone daring to be great, takes.

The initiate warrior looks to raise himself to the next level of development. He seeks to grow in order to be worthy. Not necessarily of those around him, but for himself.

To be worthy of your own respect, you need to commit to set yourself goals every day. These goals need to scare you, to push you. You need to mold yourself by applying pressure and holding yourself to a higher standard than you did yesterday. How else can you find out what you're made of.
There is no other way to look into the eyes of those who may need you one day and tell them convincingly, that you are dependable if you can't even depend on yourself.
Be the person who can answer yes to the call for help, without a single doubt. Be the one who can look into the eyes of those who depend upon them and tell them with confidence that you can handle whatever is thrown at you.

Pressure test yourself to know that you can shield and carry those close to you, that need it.

When your time comes and the abyss looks into your soul, don't blink. Look back at it and laugh. For it doesn't know you, like you know yourself.

"Feel the fear and do it anyway."
