WHY SHOULD I CONSUME RED MEAT?
Red meat is highly bioavailable in nutrients, comes from ruminant animals - which means that it is far more rich in micronutients than the meat of standard monogastric animals. The chewing of the cud, allows cows, venison, goats and sheep to be able to extract more from the natural resource they eat. As humans we can't eat grass, so we eat the processor of those nutrients: animals liberate those nutrients from the soil and structures that we can't digest and we in turn eat them. They are in many ways the intermediary between photosynthesized structures and us, helping us liberate the nutrients with which need to nourish ourselves.
WHY DO WE PUNT DAIRY LIKE YOGHURT AND KEFIR?
Good quality milk has excellent ratios of nutrients in it, as well as tons of bio available vitamins and minerals. For those sensitive to lactose, Kefir and Yoghurt is great, due to their probiotic cultures, which in turn will aid in the digestion of other nutrients, taken in from other sources, over time. This is the best option for long term digestive health.
WHAT TRAINING PROGRAM SHOULD I CHOOSE?
The types of training methodologies we have on the site range from bodybuilding and hypertrophy focused to overall "functional" where the function is to be able to move well, having strength through mobile ranges of motion. Each program that we offer has it's own spec and range of benefits. If you wish to gain strength and size with neurological adaptation then the VRP system is for you. If you wish to be focused on hypertrophy and finding out what stimulus and split your body responds the most optimally to, then the BHP system is right up your alley. If you want to work with Leo and pick his brain directly, having a tailored approach to training and nutrition, then we recommend the VLT training group. Each goal has a different path towards it, at the end of the day what matters is that you're clear about what you're looking for and why you want it.
ISNT CHOLESTEROL AN ISSUE WITH RED MEAT AND BUTTER?
It isn't that simple. In a healthy indivual with great underlying markers and genetic predispositions, cholesterol is not the cause for artherosclerosis or all cause mortality as is often punted by centralised medicine. If the individual trains well, sticks to balanced nutrient approaches that emphasise a full complement of bioavailable vitamins, minerals and macronutrients, rests well - sleeps and minimises stress, then cholesterol on the upper end of the spectrum is in no way something to worry about. An often overlooked point is that the body needs cholesterol to synthesise lipid based hormones such as testosterone and estrogen, which are extremely important in your body. The right compliments of fats are also neuroprotective and are important in the health of all your cells and helping your body minimise systemic inflammation.
